Refrigerator cleaning tips.... - If your vacuum cleaner hose attachment will not fit under your refrigerator to clean the condenser coils, try using a rubber band to hold an old sock or rag to the end of a yardstick. Slide the stick under the refrigerator to clean or brush off the condenser coils. - Use warm water to clean the plastic and glass portions of your refrigerator. Hot water may cause them to break. - Kill mildew and prevent it from returning by wiping down the walls and shelves with vinegar.
Range cleaning tips.... - To clean a "not so messy" oven, place a small bowl of ammonia on the top shelf and a bowl of boiling water on the bottom shelf of an cold oven. Leave them there overnight, then wipe clean in the morning. - Baking soda is a safe, gentle abrasive. Pour onto a sponge and wipe. - Clean the stovetop with white vinegar. Grease and grime disappear leaving it streak-free and shiny.
Dishwasher cleaning tips.... - Can use a damp cloth and baking soda to clean the inside - Running a short cycle with Crystal Tang in the dishwasher can help freshen and clean up the inside. - For some filmy residue on the inside, fill a bowl with one cup of bleach and place on the lower rack. Run a short cycle wash, but do not use the dry cycle.
Pots/pans and dishes cleaning tips.... - Burnt pans can be easy to clean, coat the bottom with baking soda and add water to cover. Let stand for at least 3 hours, then gently scrape out the burnt food with a plastic spatula. - To remove calcium and hard water filming, soak glasses in distilled water and vinegar overnight. - Tea and coffee stains can be easily removed with a solution of 2 tablespoons of bleach to one cup of warm water. let soak for an hour or two.
Laundry cleaning tip.... Antiperspirant - Blot the spot with a paper towel dampened with a solution of baking soda and vinegar. Wash as usual in the hottest water that is safe for the fabric. Baby formula - If the stains don't come out with normal washing, ( don't dryer dry yet ), squeeze lemon juice on the spot and let it sit in the sun until it has dried. Then launder as usual. Blood - Get to the bloodstains immediately. Rinse well in cold water, then try one of the following... > Sprinkle stain with unflavored meat tenderizer > Blot on hydrogen peroxide with a damp cloth, allow to bubble, then wipe with a fresh cloth. Repeat if necessary. > For dried bloodstains, soak overnight in cold water and two cups of salt. Wash as usual. Cosmetics & Fabric softener - A bar of white soap should be all you need. Wet the stain and rub the soap into it. Use a pre-wash formula if the stain persists and rewash. Grass - Mix 1/3 cup vinegar and 2/3's cup water. Apply to the stain and blot. Or pre-soak in hydrogen peroxide and launder as usual. Grease - Use a powder, such as talcum or cornstarch, to soak up any excess grease. When powder gets thick, scrape away and repeat. Place garment face down on paper towels and then apply a dry cleaning solvent or liquid detergent. Then dampen the area with water and then rub with a bar of white soap. Wash as usual. Ring on the collar - Brush shampoo into the collar using a stiff brush, launder as usual. Vomit - First is too scrape up as much as you can. Flush the spot in cold water to dilute the acid. Soak the item in warm water and 1 teaspoon of detergent. Rinse with cool water until the stain disappears. Wash as usual. You can machine wash you delicates by placing them in a mesh laundry bag and use the gentle cycle on your washer.
